Into rock climbing or mountaineering? We’re one of the largest climbing clubs in New Zealand, and one of the most active clubs to be found at Auckland University. We meet on Wednesday nights from 6pm at the University of Auckland Rec Centre for our club nights, and head away for outdoor climbing or alpine trips on the weekends. Caving trips also happen occasionally, and there are plenty of social events as well. During the summer months, we can also be found chilling at Albert Park where a slackline will be set up for all keen members to try or show off skills.
Our members range from complete beginners to those with years of experience, and we welcome new members of any level (whether you’re an university student or staff or not at uni at all). We run instruction courses for both rock-climbing and alpine skills, and have all the gear required – so no one needs to spend lots of money getting into the sport.
