What is bouldering?
Bouldering is a style of climbing that uses mats instead of ropes and harnesses while staying close to the ground.
The start of a climb is indicated by either a three taped hold (start with both your hands on this hold) or two, two taped holds (Start with one hand on each hold)
Follow the taped holds of the same colour to the top which is indicated by a hold with 3 pieces of tape. Hold this hold with both hands for 3 seconds to finish the climb.
Our Club Nights
Club nights take place from 7 - 9 pm on Wednesdays. Previously, we have held club nights at the UoA Recreation Centre. It is currently under construction and won't be available for use until 2024.
We are currently holding club nights alternating between Northern Rocks (bouldering only) and Extreme Edge Panmure (roped climbing, bouldering). Details and carpool organisation are on our mailing list/Facebook page, so keep an eye out!
We have a box of climbing shoes and harnesses that members can borrow free of charge.
